Have you ever stood in front of your closet, hands akimbo, wondering why you don’t have anything to wear with everything in your closet? Yes, you are not alone, we’ve all had that day where finding the right outfit is just difficult. Finding the right outfit for the day can be simple as well as complicated and therefore I have decided to list out some tips that I use to get by so whether you are trying to find an outfit for an occasion or just to get through the day, then these tips are for you.
- Organize your wardrobe frequently: The bliss you get when you come to your closet, and you can pull out what to wear without huffing in frustration is what organizing offers. Compartmentalizing every piece in your closet is key for a seamless outfit planning session.
- Have an inspiration: Planning an outfit gets easier when you have an example of what you want to look like when you are done dressing. This tip can be achieved by saving some of the looks that you like to your Instagram Saved or creating a Pinterest Board so when you feel you are at a dead end and you don’t know what to wear, scroll through those saved and thank me later.
- Have a hero piece: A hero piece is a key item that you build your outfit on. It could be a necklace, a pair of jeans, a blouse or even a shoe. Most people’s hero piece is a shoe because it naturally sets the tone for what to wear. Having that item in mind, you begin to imagine the combinations that go well with it, and it will save you from matching multiple pieces together.
- Take time out: We all know prior proper planning prevents poor performance. This simply means taking time to plan about something before the thing happens, so before it gets to that time when you need to get dresses, take some minutes to look through your closet to pick out an outfit. It becomes easier that way.
- Get more of what you wear: Introducing more of what you wear regularly to your closet will save time, money and it will also help in getting together an outfit in less time because we tend to wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time so buying something you see yourself wearing once a year on a regular might be adding to the problem of planning your day to day outift.
